Please arrive as close as possible to your scheduled experience time. We recommend arriving no more than 10 minutes early.
As we are a working family farm, we are often preparing for your visit, caring for our animals, or completing other farm responsibilities before your arrival. Arriving too early may mean we are unable to greet you until your scheduled start time.
We look forward to welcoming you and providing you with a personalised experience once your visit begins.
Our experiences take place outdoors on a working farm. We recommend comfortable clothing suitable for the weather conditions on the day.
Enclosed footwear is required, as guests will be walking on uneven farm terrain. We also recommend preparing for changing conditions by bringing appropriate sun protection, warm layers, or wet weather clothing where required.
Maple Valley Highlands is a working family farm, and our environment changes naturally with the seasons. Guests may encounter uneven ground, livestock, and typical farm conditions during their visit.
For everyone's safety and enjoyment, please follow the guidance provided by your host throughout the experience.
If you are running late, please contact us as soon as possible. While we understand delays can occur, our experiences are privately scheduled and a late arrival may reduce the available time for your visit.
We appreciate your understanding as we balance providing a memorable guest experience with the care and routines of our Highland cattle and farm operations.
We're located in beautiful Paris Creek, South Australia, nestled on the border of the Adelaide Hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Yes. Our Highland cattle are accustomed to meeting visitors and enjoy interacting with guests. Like all animals, they each have their own personalities, and their welfare always comes first.
Yes. Children are welcome to attend when accompanied by a responsible adult. The experience can be enjoyed by children of most ages; however, as we are interacting with large animals, we recommend a ratio of approximately one adult for every two children to ensure children can be safely supervised and everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the experience.
We encourage families to consider each child's confidence, comfort level, and ability to follow instructions when deciding if the experience is suitable for them.
Yes. All participants, regardless of age, are included when calculating group numbers. This includes babies, toddlers and young children.
Keeping our group sizes small allows us to provide a safe, personalised experience for our guests while ensuring our Highland cattle remain comfortable and well cared for.
Unfortunately not. The experience takes place in paddock areas with uneven terrain, which can make wheelchair access difficult.
No. For the safety of our livestock and visiting guests, pets are not permitted on the property.
Light rain generally will not affect the experience. If conditions become unsuitable or unsafe, we will contact you regarding rescheduling or other options in accordance with our weather policy.
The welfare of our cattle is our highest priority. Experiences may be postponed during extreme heat or when conditions are unsuitable for our animals or guests.
If a Total Fire Ban is declared for our area, experiences will be rescheduled to another suitable date. The safety of our guests, family and animals is our highest priority.
Of course! Guests are encouraged to take photos throughout their experience and capture memories with our Highland cattle.
We occasionally accommodate professional photography sessions by prior arrangement. Please contact us before making a booking so we can discuss your requirements.
Yes. Gift vouchers are available and make a wonderful gift for animal lovers. Please enquire with us for available options.
Our experiences are designed for small groups to ensure a personal and memorable visit. If you have a larger group, please contact us before booking and we will discuss what options may be available.
Our Highland cattle will generally be around the viewing area during experiences, allowing guests the opportunity to meet and interact with them. Occasionally, individual cattle may not be present due to their wellbeing, or other circumstances on the day. The welfare of our animals always comes first.
We intentionally limit the number of experiences we offer to ensure our Highland cattle receive plenty of downtime and to allow us to balance guest experiences with the daily operation of our working family farm.
Due to the limited number of experiences available, bookings often fill several months in advance. If your preferred date is unavailable, please feel free to enquire, as cancellations do occasionally occur and we are always happy to let you know if something becomes available.
We are generally not open for experiences Monday to Thursday; however, we may occasionally be able to accommodate weekday bookings where possible. Please contact us to enquire.
Occasionally we may have Highland cattle available, but this is not a regular occurrence. If you are interested in purchasing Highland cattle, please contact us and we can let you know if anything is planned.
