From the moment you arrive, you'll be warmly welcomed and guided to our Highland Hangout. Along the way, you may be joined by our friendly donkeys, who are always hoping for a tasty treat.
Once there, you'll be introduced to each member of our Highland fold, learning about their unique personalities, daily care, and life here at Maple Valley Highlands. Enjoy a hands-on experience where you can pat, brush, scratch, cuddle, and hand-feed our gentle Highland cattle while we share the fascinating history of the breed, interesting facts, and our passion for preserving these remarkable animals.
There will be plenty of opportunities to capture memorable photos throughout your visit, so be sure to bring your camera or phone. This is a relaxed, guided walking experience, allowing you to spend quality time with our Highlands in a peaceful farm setting while learning about life on our family farm.

As a working farm, conditions can sometimes change unexpectedly. For the safety and wellbeing of both our guests and animals, experiences may be rescheduled or cancelled in cases of severe weather. This includes:
- Heavy rain
- Temperatures above 35°C for Mount Barker, SA
- Extreme or Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating days (total fire ban) in the Mount Lofty Ranges
If your experience is cancelled, you will receive a full refund (excluding any third-party fees).

Maple Valley Highlands is a genuine working farm, and part of its charm is experiencing the day-to-day rhythm of farm life. During your visit, you may see or hear routine farm activities taking place, such as feeding, animal care, or general farm work.
While we always aim to provide a relaxed and enjoyable experience, these activities are an important part of caring for our animals and maintaining the property. We appreciate your understanding and hope it adds to the authenticity and uniqueness of your visit.

Your booking is a fully private session, so no other guests will be scheduled during your time with us.
All participants are required to sign a liability waiver prior to the experience.
For the experience of up to eight guests, the experience may be adapted slightly to suit the group size. While the format may differ, all the same special elements—connection, learning, and hands-on interaction—remain at the heart of your visit.
